Adapt or Change can be Lethal
Take Nokia for example, their CEO ending the speech during the announcement of NOKIA acquisition by Microsoft, “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow we lost”. They didn’t do anything wrong, but they didn’t do anything right either. Right would have been changing themselves to modern age requirements. Apple changed themselves, launched the first iPhone in 2007, and was an instant hit, took over the whole world by a surprise, and now Apple is a brand that everybody wants to relate themselves with.
Time of opening a business location and waiting for customers is long gone now. You have to come up on the digital world. You have to learn new ways of marketing. People nowadays search the website first and then decide whether to go for a brand or not. A website is a mirror reflection of your business. If it’s not attractive, no matter how good your product or service is, people will wither away from you.
Facebook for example has reported that by the end of 2015 the number of active Facebook users were 1.581 billion. That’s the largest population on the world right now!!! China according to United Nations population division, has 1.382 billion people of population and that’s the highest of the world, while India being the second highest with 1.326 billion people. If Facebook has more number of people than China, then why not use it to promote your business. According to American express, more than 35% of entrepreneurs use Facebook to promote their new businesses. Today consumers spend 20 hours a week online on social media. By failing to connect to your clients online in the digital world, you can do serious harm to your business. You will just stand by and watch as the world takes over you in this fast paced digital world. Time to adapt is now.
