Now a days world is changing everyday with the passage of time and new modes of transport and communication is introduced and it will expand in the future according to the need of time. Everyone wants to do the massive work in short time. For this purpose different technologies were bring in for the ease of people like human mind first created wheel then a little more transformation takes it to make a cycle then added an engine to it and made motor bikes then Cars. But that wasn’t the end, Human then thought of air travel and successfully innovate an airplane too. Technology means innovation and innovation brings the change in life in thinking and vision of everybody’s mind. In this article we are going to share a new technology boom which is grabbing every person’s attention named as Hyperloop: World’s Fastest Train.
Hyperloop Idea & Concept
Hyperloop is the new technology for transportation of people and goods in less time. The domain of transportation got serious boom when first Supersonic Passenger Plane named as Concorde introduced in modes of transport at start of 1970’s. Then human mind went on discovering some great transportation facilities like Bullet Trains. The world record for highest speed train created by SCMaglev on 21st April, 2015 is 603 km/h (375 mph) in Japan. Elon Musk was already shaping something huge in his mind and revealed the idea of Hyperloop in August 2013. It can send up to 28 people through elevated vacuum tubes at speeds reaching 800 miles per hour (nearly 1300 km/h) which created the bang in technology world. Elon Musk has a successful record in past with SpaceX, Tesla and PayPal. This theory also gives him credibility.
In our pasts we heard that man can travel miles through airplane but now Hyperloop is a tremendous invention to travel on earth with the speed of hundreds of miles per hour. It can be primary transportation system in future to connect cities and countries for trading, tourism and communication.
The structure of Fastest Tube Transport is based on a reduced-pressure tube through which pressurized capsule power-driven by linear electric motors. Hyperloop is similar to other vacuum tube train concepts. It allows the pod to run on the air-bearings, so there is no need of magnetic levitation system. It uses the pressurized source of air by the compressors which are driven on batteries. It worked on transonic speeds and at low pressure situation. The design of the pod compression system used in the structure is similar to the compressor which used in aircraft turbo equipment. The design of Hyperloop heavily inspired by the sizing of aircrafts and turbine engine analysis.
Cost & Evaluation
The cost of Hyperloop is huge than other land modes of transport. The overall cost for the Pillars, Tube, Vacuum Pumps and Stations is to be around 4 Billion USD. But this cost not included the linear motors and solar panel cost. Elon Musk is more focused towards using less scarce resources and utilize maximum solar energy. This cost is only 70% of complete estimated cost. The total estimated cost for this is 5.3 Billion USD approximately.
Recently SpaceX announced to organize an open completion, allowed Students from universities and independents are invited to build a best Hyperloop pod. SpaceX will construct a one-mile test track adjacent to our Hawthorne, California headquarters. Teams will be able to test their human-scale pods during a competition weekend at the track, scheduled for January 27-29, 2017. The knowledge gained here will continue to be open-sourced.
Delay in Track Construction
Elon Musk is keen to give access of Fastest Tube Transport to the world and for that he is constantly making more & more efforts. Recently HTT CEO Dirk Ahlborn told a news website The Verge on 6th Sep, 2016 that the construction of Test Track is been delayed as it was expected to begin in the middle of 2016. HTT (Hyperloop Transportation Technologies) didn’t submit an application named Environmental Review Application which is necessary and now a cause of delay for its construction process. They would also go for a major development phase by making Hyperloop a part of Quay Valley with a lead to house almost 75000 people located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles but this all process would take some more months to start. Once the construction starts then we could estimate the completion time as well.
